Internet Explorer 9 no ofrecerá soporte para Windows XP.

Microsoft ha anunciado que la próxima versión de su navegador, Internet Explorer 9 no ofrecerá soporte para Windows XP porque las limitaciones de rendimiento y seguridad del sistema operativo no le permitirán trabajar con el nuevo navegador.

La compañía ha presentado la primera preview de IE9, que incluirá soporte para el estándar HTML 5 además de contar con un motor javaScriopt mejorado, entre otras cosas, como ITespresso publicó ayer.

La noticia de la falta de soporte para Windows XP se produce en un momento en el que también es noticia que las empresas empiezan a migrar hacia Windows 7.

Inicialmente se había establecido el fin del soporte para Windows XP para 2011, pero la compañía decidió retrasarlo tres años debido a la prevalencia de sistemas con esta versión de su sistema operativo y la falta de apoyo a su sucesor, Windows Vista.

No obstante, y aunque se ha ampliado el periodo de soporte para Windows XP, Microsoft ha pedido a los usuarios que se muevan a Windows 7 señalando los mayores beneficios de seguridad del sistema operativo diseñados para limitar el riesgo y severidad de las infecciones de malware.
